District Deputy Report

Brothers,

We are now in the second half of the Fraternal Year and we are still lagging in membership growth for this year.  With so many challenges in our world today, our Order remains a beacon of hope, and should be drawing brothers to us and the things that we do to make a difference.  Why did you join the Order?  What was it that attracted you?

When conversing with other Catholic gentlemen, do you mention our good works and your story of why you became and remain a member?  Equally important, if you cross paths with an inactive member, do you greet them warmly, ask how they’re doing, update them on some of our recent efforts and encourage them to participate in an upcoming activity?

Our activities draw attention to us, illustrate our good works, make a difference, and enhance our fraternal bond with one another as we work together in unity.  You are part of an amazing worldwide organization, a group dedicated to you, your family, and your faith.

Sadly, sometimes we forget all the good we do and why we joined.  We lose sight of the bigger picture – the greater good that we serve and accomplish.  We drift and lose connection with our Council brothers.  We are brothers and we need to make sure that every member understands that they are essential to our council health and well being, more importantly, every brother needs to understand that we care about one another.

Therefore, I challenge each of you to reach out to your members, especially those who you have not spoken to recently and connect as a fraternal brother.  Connect, engage, energize, and help them recommit.  Let’s strive make sure every brother – those active and especially those who have been inactive – understands that he is vital and appreciated.
